Carpet Right - Mechanical Engineering

Carpet Right is the UK’s largest carpet retailer, operating from warehouse locations across the UK. Of course, this means that they have multiple systems in need of regular maintenance and servicing.   

Issue 

Carpet Right contacted us to request a quote to service the heating systems in their warehouse branches nationwide. Upon inspection we discovered that the majority of the heaters installed on Carpet Right’s warehouse premises were gas convector heaters situated at a high level (approximately 5m high). 

Our Approach 

Safety is of paramount importance to us at EPT, which is why our first step was to hire a plant transporter and a Skyjack 3219 scissor lift. These two pieces of equipment would mean that our engineers could safely access the heaters at height. 

Wherever possible, the heaters were serviced and brought back into full operation. This helped to minimise costs for the customers and extend the life cycle of their existing systems. Off the back of this initial work, we were also contracted to replace some of the older heaters that had become inefficient. We replaced these with newer models that offered more a sustainable, energy efficient heating source. 

Outcome

The work was completed quickly, safely and efficiently, much to the customer’s satisfaction. We were able to complete all of the initial work to a high standard, so much so that we were offered the additional contract.
